Here is a recent letter we received: (Monday, July 31st)

I live in Hampton, VA and the nearest drive-in is over two hours away. I have been wanting to see a movie at a drive-in for some time to relive childhood memories. I investigated websites for theaters in Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland. We chose to visit your theater last Saturday to see Superman Returns and The Lake House. We checked into a hotel and sat watching the terrible lightning that we were sure would cancel the movies. To our delight, you were open.

My husband and I just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed your theater. Everything was tidy and clean from the restrooms to the food stand. There was not a piece of litter to be seen. Your business provided just the memory we had been seeking--a return to yesteryear, where life was a bit simpler.

I see that you have only recently taken over the theater. I wish you well and perhaps we will vist again.

"Moonglo" Memories from th 60's submitted by Bonnie:

I was young, but allowed to date on Saturday nights, but was told not to go to the drive-in-movie, but of course being a stubborn teen, did it anyway. One night while at the movie, near the front row, my then boyfriend handed me a cigarette to toss out the window, before I threw it out, I took a puff from it... not knowing that my mom and dad were in the car right behind us... before I knew what was happening, my dad's head was in the window, asking, "What are you doing with that cigarette, and I better never see you do that again". It scared me to death...for my dad never said anything to me about anything. It was good that I had already thrown it out, for if I hadn't, I would have swallowed it, right then and there.... Another time, I was there with the same boyfriend, and of course, was doing a little kissing. Again, my mom and dad were parked near us, and again, I got the surprise visit at the window, to say the least, not a pleasant one....
